Wales is aiming to become the world’s first ‘Nation of Sanctuary’. Nation of Sanctuary is a sub-movement of City of Sanctuary UK. The vision is of a Wales in which wherever people seeking sanctuary go, they are met with welcome, understanding and celebration of their unique contribution to the rich tapestry of Welsh life.<\/p>\n

We know that it will take action from a wide range of people and organisations, all over Wales, to make this vision a reality. We’re pleased we have the support of Welsh Government who are responsible for providing public services for people who have be resettled here by the UK Government (outlined in the Nation of Sanctuary plan).<\/p>\n

There are many successful City of Sanctuary groups across Wales carrying out amazing work in their communities. Find your local group here: List of City of Sanctuary groups | City of Sanctuary<\/a>. If there is no group local to you, get in touch to find out how to set up a new group. There are also councils in Wales that have signed up to be members of the City of Sanctuary Local Authority network and have committed to being a Council of Sanctuary.
