The Welsh Refugee Coalition, alongside individuals and community groups throughout Wales are calling for Wales to become the world’s first ever ‘Nation of Sanctuary’.  We are building on the work of the City of Sanctuary movement which exists throughout the UK and Ireland, as well as the lessons learned by existing City of Sanctuary groups in Wales including Swansea, Cardiff, Croeso Teifi, Hay, Brecon & Talgarth, Wrexham and Neath Port Talbot.

People across Wales have been responding to the ongoing refugee crisis in towns and villages across the country, setting up schemes which offer support and welcome. We want this outpouring of welcome to continue and grow to make Wales the first ever ‘Nation of Sanctuary’.
